Art to Wear!

I've been working on this for a while and thinking about it even longer! But now it's finally happening. Today was the first posting to my Etsy shop EvelynMcCPetersArt of my wearable art. I am putting the images of my original works on glass pendants. At this point I'm offering them as necklaces but I have a few other ideas in the works. Stay tuned for more options...and I'll also be posting to my shop BarkingDogCreations  some unique pieces and ones that can be  customized!

A terrific idea from artist Kendra Smith!

I follow @Kendraart on Twitter. When I tell you she's an absolutely amazing artist I am not exagerating! Her work takes my breath away! Each piece she does brings me into its depths. Her scenes are translucent with the cold and snow she depicts from her home area in Canada. I can almost feel a little chill when I look into them. Which is really nice since I'm sweltering here in Florida!

Last night on Twitter I read that she was adding banners from two other artists onto her website. These are also two wonderful, talented and kind tweets @AnnieDoodlebugz and @Whimzicals. So I asked Kendra how she was doing this. She was kind enough to email me and share her method. So I am now in the process of doing this on my blog and she will of course be the first link I add!

So if anyone else wants to share this great idea...just let us know!

A Bit of a New Direction

Hello everyone! Hope all had a fabulous holiday weekend! And for those of you without a holiday I hope you're weekend was just as wonderful.

Recently I've been trying to think of a way to share my art besides painting and prints. I am now venturing a bit into jewelry! I know many people do this, but I feel that if others visit my site and don't want to make a large investment they can still have a piece of my art and show everyone what terrific artistic taste they have!

I've started creating, picking sometimes whole images and sometimes cropped images from my paintings. It's a bit more challenging that I thought! But all in all it's off to a good start.

I'm waiting for more supplies and the packaging material before I post anything to my Etsy Shop EvelynMcCPetersArt. As you can see above I will also be doing some for my shop BarkingDogCreations! I'm also going to be developing some cool doggie tags!

Now if I can just learn to photograph them....

I'm Featured on Pocketfulla Posy!

I don't really remember how I found "Pocketfulla Posy" but I know that I'm truly glad I did! Angela is a wonderful woman with a terrific writing style and a darn good knitter! She celebrates the handmade lifestyle in each and every post, dedicated to a purposeful way of life.

Angela has made me rethink my blog a bit and I am going to reach out of the "art box" a bit in future posts. I know those who follow my blog, which I once again humbly thank you for, are used to my art features, which of course will continue. But I though it may be time to share a little bit about the ten million other things that happen here at "Barking Dog Ranch!" My life is intensely not boring!

So I thank you Angela. Your commitment to expressing what's important to you has turned me on a new path, and after all I think that's what all this sharing should be about...don't you?
